I’m going ‘emo’ again. For the delight (or dismay) of those people who somehow found my blog, I’d like to share my daily life as a busy student. This is how I go everyday for this semester.
I usually wake up at around 5:00-6:00am. By this time, it’s either all my siblings are out to school, or my Mom is still nagging at them for not waking up early. I first look for my cellphone to check the time, or if there are messages, then stand up, go down to the kitchen, and brush my teeth.
After brushing my teeth, I would heat some water (I like having my water warm when I take a bath) then go up to my room again to ‘fix’ my things. I would bring out readings, trash, and put in the set of readings I would use for that day. This usually takes 15 minutes of my time. I sometimes take out the clothes that I’d wear for the day.
I would go down, and take a bath. I use two towels when I take a bath, one for my body and one for my hair. 10 minutes later, I’m out, feeling refreshed. I would immediately go up to my room again to dress up and check my things again. Minutes later, I’d go down and pack my lunch.
I rarely eat breakfast. I get frustrated when I have to wait (and get late) for breakfast so I usually skip it. But I sometimes buy bread and eat it on the way to school.
A few steps away from our house is where the jeep to Monumento pass by. I’d wait for 5-10 minutes to get on a fairly comfortable jeep. Six pesos later, I’m at Monumento.
The LRT terminal is fairly far from the jeepney terminal. As I walk, I see defferent kinds of people, people who seem to care about nothing except earning money to survive, hopeless people who just lie around, waiting for something, a few taong grasas, and office people, students, and workers who are like drones that walk like empty shells towards the train station. I am a part of the drone group.
I board the train to UN Avenue station, around 20-30 minutes from Monumento. The train is usually packed in the mornings, so consider yourself lucky if you get a seat. Its still morning so the air inside the train is still ‘fresh’, if you now what I mean. And people still feel clean, so OC (Obsessive Compulsive) people need not to worry about getting dirty or something.
I go down the station, welcomed by a barrage of smoke-belching buses. The walk from the station to school is fairly far as well, expect to smell like cars when you arrive at UP. There’s this jeepney terminal to Padre Faura, but I think it’s a waste of money. I’d rather walk (and smell like cars).
School at last. My first classes are always at the third floor of our buildings. Walk-walk-stairs-stairs-stairs-walk… there’s my room!
I’m usually on time or a little late. I don’t care. I just sit down, take down notes, and chat with my seatmate, killing time. I do listen to the professor of course, but I have this need of conversing with my seatmate to be able to grasp the thought of the lesson.
I stay at school during break time. I started to get tired of Robinson’s Manila, so I hang around at our office, or at our friend’s office to chat, and kill time. This is the time when I do my set of readings, or do homework, eat lunch, and just bum around.
After school, I usually meet my boyfriend, although lately we haven’t been seeing each other as much as before. So I would just hang around at school or go to SM Manila to play.
I get home at 7:00-8:00pm. I would eat dinner, chat on the phone with my boyfriend, do readings again while watching TV, and finally, go to bed, lull about the things that happened during the day, lie down, and sleep.
I have a boring life.
I would like to apologize to those people who happened to waste a few minutes of their precious time reading my entry. I just wanted to rant.
