Wiccan Wallpaper on my Friendster

    I was browsing through my e-mails when I found a message from friendster saying that I have a photo comment. Weird because nobody has viewed my friendster much, and it was from an old blockmate who moved back to his hometown so… I got curious and looked up on what photo that was.

    It was that old wiccan wallpaper I found on the internet, and he asked me if I was a Wiccan. NOw I have to explain myself.

    Years ago, back in high school, I had a friend who is basically a Wiccan. I'm not really sure which god she worshiped, but she taught me a lot about the religion, and even lent me a book to read up about it. Right now, I still have a copy of that book.

    And I got interested, I looked up a lot of references on the internet, bought a few novels dealing with the subject, read open books in Powerbooks about it, went to chatrooms, talked to people, I once even encountered a textmate who claims that he/she is a Wiccan and told me that my screen name spider_yuri ™ was nice because it means weaver of destiny. I liked that name actually, I still use it up to now. He/She eve invited me to a few rituals, though i never went.

    Having read about the religion almost made me one, although I knew I can never go all out because my parents are semi-strict Catholics, most of my friends are Catholics… and I don't have much courage to "convert" myself into one. So I remained in my state of "study".

    I stopped my research a long time ago, though I forgot why I stopped. My readings are still with me, my materials are still with me. The belief in Wicca is still in me, but I should clarify that I'm not Wiccan. I'm still a Catholic, although I do not subscribe much about religion stuff. As a friend classified me, I'm somewhat an agnostic because I believe that there's a God out there, but the God I believe in doesn't necessarily have to be enclosed within the standards of humans. 

    I don't like to discuss much about my belief in terms of religion right now, maybe next time when I can draft a good discussion about it.
