I’m having my practicum at Center for People Empowerment and Governence in UP Diliman. Okay, I’ve always wanted to have my practicum at the Senate of the Philippines (still bitter) but I wasn’t able to get a slot. I heard Senator Pangilinan’s one of the most generous (practicumers have allowance and other benefits, so they say). I have to love CenPEG though, your schedule is in your hands.
But oh no, we’ll be doing research stuff! Pretty much like PolSci 199. They gave us a topic and a deadline, we got to conceptualize on how we’ll do the study, and right after they approve our concet paper, we can start doing the research. We get to do what we want as long as we attend general meetings and complete the research study. The end. I’m kind of worried though because we don’t have time cards or any kind of thing to prove that we have completed 200 hours. Oh! We have that journal thingy! My groupmates decided to have a blog about our life with CenPEG, which is kin of, err, corny. I don’t even think while I type down my entries. I just say what I want to say, narrate what happened to my day blah blah blah. And even if its corny, I’m still putting our address here. It’s www.presidentialoracle.multiply.com (guess what our topic is!). Feel free to visit us.
No time cards? Depends on the people you’re working for, if they are nice (will doctor time cards) or evil (will work you guys beyond 200 hours.)
Posted by Ozy at April 28, 2008, 4:52 pmI think they’ll be basing our time on our journals - which are easy to fake. I can just claim that I did some work on certain days. I haven’t been faking any journal so far though.
Posted by madz at April 29, 2008, 2:08 pmOoh, pretty interesting journal thingy. Hehe. During my internship last year, we were also required to post our experiences, blah blah’s in a group blog. So how’s the internship so far? Oh, I’ll just read you blog thingy for updates. Hehe.
