Finally! After years of waiting, we finally have our own computer at home. Yes, a computer. *clap clap clap*
I’ve been waiting for this since first year college. As a political science student, we are usually assigned to research on a topic then write a paper about it. Our average is around one to two papers a week, which means I have to go to the computer shop to work on the research part and the paper. Not that I’m too lazy to go to the library to look for ideas, but it’s a bit more convenient to do simple research work on he internet. We sometimes have “hard-core” papers (READ: papers that need tons of reference materials) which requires at least 3 books so I still go to the library every now and then. But it all boils down to going to a shop, rent a computer for 15-20php, then spend an hour and a half to work on one paper. Imagine working on two or three all at the same time. Imagine the cost of making papers.
I’ve been trying to convince my parents to buy a computer set since I was in second year. Come to think of it, I have to go to the computer shop at least once a week to work on a paper. If I were to sum up all the money I spend on renting a computer, I would have been able to buy our own computer within a year.
I’m now in my fourth year in college, and I finally convinced my mom to buy a computer. I call our computer Chi-chi. She’s an Intel Dual Core, with 1G of RAM and 160G Hard Disk. I couldn’t remember her other specifications, but I’m very happy with her performance so far. I’ll have to test her limits though, by installing Sims 2! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!
Chi-chi’s an XP that looks like a
Today.
I love Chi-chi. She will be of great help.
My mom’s friend did not install the Movie Maker, so Ulead muna. The Print Artist thing is pretty much useless, it’s just a cheesy greeting card/poster/certificate maker. My Mom likes the mosaic maker thing, so I can’t uninstall that.
I’ll be uninstalling some programs soon, like expired games (yes, na-expire agad yung ibang games).
Thanks for the tip!

suggestion: remove the Ulead (youll only need Movie Maker), the Mosaic maker thingy (you just need Photoshop), Print Artist (dno what that is but it sounds useless, lol). why? cos theyre a waste of ram and your hard drive. these things take a lot of space and can slow down your computer. Sims pa nga lang ang laki na ng bawas.
just uninstall all unnecessary programs/games you dont play to keep your computer working in top shape.
