Last week, my friend Reighben gave me a job. He had to quit teaching two of his students and since I need a part-time job, I took his place.
He told me that I’ll be teaching Social Studies and Christian Living Education. What a challenge. I’ve always hated Social Studies since high school because there’s too much to memorize. I never had a CLE class before, so it’s a new subject for me. He also told me that it’s a very stressful job. Good luck!
I started teaching my Korean students last Monday. They were nice and accommodating, but I think they found it weird that their teacher’s looks would pass as a high school student (I look puny for a college student).
My students were sisters, one of them is in Grade 7 while the other is in Second Year High School. What we basically did last week was to do their assignments and review for the younger one’s upcoming Mastery Test on Social Studies and CLE. Pressure! I hope she passes her exam.
Oh, this job gave me my very first pay, err, envelope. Yay! Happy happy.
haha! I never even thought of teaching math. I’ll be embarrassing! I miss teaching kids, I’m currently working in an office. I’d love to teach again sometime.
Oh! yes, you work na raw sa i.ph? i read that on plurk. how much did they pay you every hour? haha!
Posted by Ladytron at June 25, 2009, 10:38 pmIf I were to teach full time (8 hours), I’d have more money. Haha! But I like it here, less stress compared to thinking about making Korean students understand concepts.
