On graduating, job hunting and being a bum. Let’s add drama to this

I’m graduating tomorrow. For real.

It’s something that my family and I looked forward to for years. For one, I am the first graduate of my immediate clan. The fact that I’m graduating from UP is another big chocolate chip on the cake (I’m supposed to type in cherry but I don’t eat cherries). The other fact that I’m graduating on time is another big chocolate chip on the cake. Maybe I should put in I’m graduating from political science – a mini chocolate chip.

Sometimes I feel like this isn’t real. During my thesis weeks I somewhat imagined myself failing, and become a disappointment. I don’t want to fail but I kept thinking ‘what if?’.

I never declared that I’m graduating until I got my clearance form. That form means that my name is on the official list of graduates, and that I passed all my subjects. Having it signed was a breeze, though it didn’t seem real. Again.

Friends from lower years congratulate me and it felt good. This is a real achievement, I thought. It’s a big deal.

Our half-graduation happened last Thursday. That morning almost started with a drama, my Dad was late and my Mom and I almost took a taxi to get to UPD. My Mom was irritated and I had to keep myself cool. I have to feel happy.

Our College Graduation was like Recognition Day back in high school. Awarding blah. It was fun. And boring. And now I’m thinking about bringing a book with me for the university graduation.

I’m supposed to go job hunting now. I passed two application forms to two different companies and now I’m just waiting for a reply. Maybe I should send out more. My boyfriend says I should sign up at jobstreet.com, which is what I am doing right now. I wonder what jobs would pop-up for a political science graduate who has no intention of going to law school. Anywho, I have to get a job. Got a future to look forward to.

As of now, I’m a bum who either stays at home all day or goes out with friends or goes out to pick up some stuff from school or goes out to the internet shop to check online accounts. It’s boring. My boyfriend is urging me to get a job ASAP so that I’ll get busy, just like him (he got a job even before he graduated). I hope one of the two companies reply ASAP.

Now I realize that I do need to get a job ASAP.

I’ll officially graduate tomorrow. It’s exciting but there’s something that’s bugging me. Oh, that’s right. There’s an upcoming encounter between my parents. You see, my parents are separated and there have been some problems with money matters. Now my mom has to confront my dad and blah and of course I have to stand by her side though I don’t like to see my parents fighting for reasons I can’t understand. I’m 20 and I cried when they started fighting during our Baguio trip. I need another post for this issue, that is, if I get ‘inspired’ enough to type my thoughts.

I’m not attending Shizen for this encounter. Meh.
