I have to admit, I made this dress out of frustration. Here’s the back story.
The first time I saw a Ball Jointed Dolls (or BJDs for short) was a music video by Mistula. Then, they were featured on a TV show and turns out, the band was fake (there was no band and the music was made digitaly) and the video was only made to feature the girl’s BJDs. I instantly fell in love with them. They’re so beautiful, and the way they were crafted makes them so realistic. They’re like real animated creatures.
I wanted one. But, my finances won’t allow me. I don’t have that kind of money to just buy a doll. So all I could do is to look at other people’s dolls and just dream about having one.
One day, out of frustration, I decided to make my mannequin, Jack Jack, a dress. Too bad for Jack2 because he’s a male mannequin and I had to vent out my frustrations on him. Why Jack2? I don’t have a Barbie. And I don’t have a female mannequin. Lol.
So here’s my creation. I’ll call it, uhm, Black Ballerina.
Here’s some close-ups:
