Love is not love, which alters when an alteration finds. When life gets hard, when things change, true love remains the same.

The Hangover @ Greenbelt 3

August 7, 2009

Another review! Woot!

I watched this last night:

(taken from www.vintagebooks.wordpress.com)

I first saw the trailer of this movie when we watched Orphan and my anti-bachelor’s party instinct kicked in. I don’t really approve bachelor parties. For me, a bachelor’s party is a ‘one-last cheating session’ before getting married. Strippers blah. Ugh. But when Azarael Coladilla sent me an e-mail inviting me to review the movie, well, I just wanted to watch it (actually, boyfriend wanted to watch it so…).

On the Cinema:

Eek! First time? Yes, it’s my first time to watch at Greenbelt 3 and I love the experience. The sound system’s great (they have THX which is awesome!) and they have comfy, comfy seats.Their airconditioning was also good, I almost had to put on mu bonnet because it was really cold! I also like their washrooms (located at the back of the cinema) - classy!

On the Movie:

The Hangover is about four guys: Doug (Justin Bartha), Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), and Alan (Zach Galifianakis) who went to Las Vegas for Doug’s bachelor party. Of course, Las Vegas means girls, gambling, alcohol, more girls, and more alcohol. The works. The next day, they find their hotel room (a f-ing $4200 a night suite - how can they spend this much?) totally trashed allong with an extra stripper, a chicken, and a tiger. And oh, a missing groom. Yes, Doug’s missing one day before his wedding in Los Angeles and they have to find him. If only they could remember what happened the night they arrived there.

I’m not telling you more. The laugh trip starts here.

I have this favorite guy though - a chinese guy who first appears in his briefs, beating the crap out of the three. Good times. I can still hear him say “suck my Chinese balls, bitches!” in my head. Oh my.

On the ‘technical’ side:

I noticed that the movie’s transition scenes tend to have a loud background music (volume). I find it a little off at some parts. Cinematography? Meh, so-so. I guess I was more disturbed by the story itself.

The movie’s theme was obvious. By the word hangover, you’re pretty sure that they got into trouble because of drinking. And just look at those faces. Some lines are really funny, while some are pretty lame. And, what, Mike Tyson? Yikes. I read some coments about the movie at www.imdb.com and some liked it a lot (’it was hilarious! The best comedy movie ever!‘) and some bashed it (’a pathetic comedy attempt‘).

Fine, it’s a guy movie. You guys watch it.

Still, “Suck my Chinese balls, bitches!”

In the states, Mr Chow (Ken Jeong) was totally naked. It’s just here that they used the one where he was wearing briefs. Same with Allan’s (Zach Galifianakis) pic at the credits, where he was being given head by an old lady. In the US, they didn’t blur it. Damn you, MTRCB!

If you want to watch the uncensored version, get a DVD. Way funnier! Seen it 4 times, by the way. Yesterday at Greenbelt was the 4th.

Oh well, MTRCB’s a conservative institution. And we’re in the Philippines, so expect a lot of criticism on butts and sex.

Though I’m not really sure if I want to see more butt. I still remember the old guy’s soggy behind! Belch!

About Me?

Hi there! I'm Madz.

I'm currently working at dotPH. I think I'm doing well. Hello internet.

I'm not really that much of a blogger, but I'm an in-born daldalera so I thought I would use this free internet blog hosting to blab about my thoughts.

I'm more of masculine than feminine, I don't like to fix-up myself, although I kind of like to dress-up girly sometimes - I dress girly now. Really. I love drawing and day dreaming, I talk to myself in public, and I love surfing the net.

I love spending time outside, most of the time enjoying things with Bernard, my boyfriend. OH, I usually call him Meow, due to my love for cats.

I'm kind of weird I guess...
