Now, if the weather cooperates with us creatures who wants to attend this event, I’ll be going in this outfit:

I’m too lazy to think of a carnival-worthy outfit, and I don’t want to dish out my Emeraude costume just yet (God, I’m itching to wear that costume again!) so I’ll just wear this one. I’ll be modifying some features though, maybe use a different headdress and add some accessories (that I’ll rush later tonight).
And what’s a masquerade without a mask?

After Ondoy, people in our neighborhood gossiped about random people in our baranggay. Someone drowned, someone lost their house, the works. Some stories are tragic, some are funny. Some are weird. Here are three of my favorites.
1. BUMALIK KA NA SA PINANGALINGAN MO! (Go back where you came from)
A man was trapped in the middle of the heavy rain. Worried about his family at home, he tried to wade through the flood in our baranggay. At first, the flood was only knee deep. Then waist deep. A few meters later, waters reached his chest.
He stopped for a while, thinking about what to do. Then from afar, he saw two girls, standing in waist deep waters. Relieved that he’ll be able to get home, he walked on, until the two girls started screaming (somewhat angrily) at him. “BUMALIK KA NA SA PINANGALINGAN MO! WAG KANG PUPUNTA DITO!” (Go back where you came from Don’t go here!) Puzzled, he walked on.

Dear you,
Hi. I’m not sure if you remember that random girl who texted you about the shops you visit for lace and some other sewing materials. Or that random person who you chatted with about some museum. Uhm, that’s me. I’ve been following your Multiply for quite some time, and drooled over your really really pretty creations. Heck, you even inspired me to make my own accessories, which I’ve been doing for quite some time now. One day I’ll be as good as you, maybe even better (lol).
I look at your pics and fangirl about how cute you are. Add the fact that you make most of the things you wear. No, I’m not a lesbian or stalker or whatev - I just like how you make your stuff and how they suit you really well.
I’ve recently read some of your personal posts, either on Multiply or Plurk (yep, I’m one of your plurk buddies) - and I feel sad about you. You’ve been posting about how jealous you get whenever you see your boyfriend’s ex and rant about not being as pretty as her or not being at par with that girl. Now I see posts of you considering changing your hairstyle, changing your ways, then giving up your most beloved hobbies. This disturbed me. Why change yourself this much for a guy?
Let me tell you this: why would your guy stay with you if he hates anything about you? Were you ever asked to change because he doesn’t like the things that you do? What made you think that his ex is better than you? I tell you, your boyfriend loves you because of the way you are right now. He loves you because of your cute image, your attitude, your activities… He loves YOU. Not his ex.

I am irritated. PMS-ing plus other OMFGWTF things that happened last weekend = a not-so-happy Madz. I think you should be warned when you read PMS.
1. LRT Perv. - I was waiting for some buddies at Central Terminal when this old foreigner guy approached me. Blah, blah, you’re-so-pretty-wanna-have-lunch-or-coffee huzzah. I tried to be civil and shooed him off. Then he tried to steal a hug. Pota, kung di ka lang mataba at mas malaki sa’kin. Then again, I failed at doing some self-defense things. I feel bad. And icky. Also, do I look like I’m some cheap Filipina who would go out with a random foreigner? Kainis.

I’ve heard of stories about couples who suddenly disappear, then come back as a married couple. I actually find it cool, in the romantic sense. I mean, its not funny when its something like a Vegas wedding (ala Hangover movie) - guy marries a girl then the next morning they realize they don’t like each other rah rah rah divorce. Remember Britney Spears? I just think its romantic ala Romeo and Juliet - wait, thats a tragic story. Uhm, never mind.
I guess I just like the idea.
Anyway, I had this weird dream last night. My boyfriend went to our house with a duffel bag. He told me to pick up my stuff, then we’ll go away and have a secret wedding. I said, “Huh? Sure. A secret wedding. Yeah.” He looked really excited.
He smiled at me while waiting for me to grab my stuff. A secret wedding, eh? Cool, nobody should know about it and we should just go away and blah. Lalalala…Then I said,
“Wait, we should tell Mom.”
So instead of running away that moment, he decided to wash our dishes while waiting for my Mom. Still, he was excited about the secret wedding idea - smiling while scrubbing plates.
*facepalm* Anong secret?
Around four months ago, I was determined to get myself a bunny. I did my research, checked my savings, and calculated how much I would need to feed that bunny. To think I was jobless back then, heh. I strolled in Cartimar, looked at bunnies and asked about food and cage prices. After doing more accounting stuff (as if I had that much money) and more research on rabbit care online, I finally got myself to go to Cartimar to get bunny stuff.
I got the largest available wirecage, some ceramic dishes, a water bottle, and a kilo of ‘imported’ pellets. I still remember the saleslady telling me that those pellets are good for rabbits. Then, the rabbit.
I got this cute little creature:
My little fur baby.
White fur, blue eyes, female. I don’t want more bunnies anytime soon so I just got one. So darn cute.
Anyway, four months later:

Since attending that Wacom mini seminar about their pen tablets and editing programs last Toycon, I had this burning desire to actually learn how to color stuff using Photoshop. Add learning advanced photo editing skills. Plus photo manipulation.
Inspiration No. 1

A quick draw challenge for that artist guy at the seminar. This is me wearing my Chii cotume. He did this in around 10 minutes.
And I just noticed this on the Wacom Philippines website:

I have this weird urge to blog but I’m not sure about what to talk about. Maybe its because of that semi-fail applesauce I made last night. Or my sleeping position that made the right side of my body feel all tingly. The windy weather? Lack of sleep? I wonder.
I downloaded some Sailormoon manga volumes last night. Just to remind me of my childhood days. I wanted to understand the corny anime dialouge and learn why she has to go nekkid and do acrobatics while transforming. Reading through volumes and volumes of my old favorite made me cringe (sobrang cheesy!) and finally understand the story. It’s actually waaay better than how I remebered it. Ah, childhood memories. Now I want to look for the movie version.

I need more motivation.
I have this list of ‘to create’ things. And it keeps getting longer by the day. I have to learn how to make an armor for an event next month. I also want to design a simple shirt. I have this notebook of ideas for my next sewing projects for my online shop (Laced by Hand). I also have this pending comic strip project. Maybe I should add my urge to do a metal bangle (I was inspired by Liz’s lace-sequin bangles). Ideas ideas ideas. Now I need time. And energy.
Maybe I should start bringing projects to work. I used to make ruffles on the bus to work/home. It saves me some time in making some projects. See, ruffles (when made by hand) takes quite some time. And it takes more time when I feel a little more meticulous about spacing the folds between ribbons or lace. I enjoy making them though, I get the design I want. Plus, my wallet won’t cry because of those expensive pre-made ruffles from Carolina’s.
I still wish we had a working sewing mahine though. Our antique sewing machine got soaked by Ondoy last week. My grandma’s pretty sure that it’ll still work, but we need money and a trusty (and reliable) repair man to do the job.
PS. Visit my shop will ya? I think you’ll like some of my stuff. Click here.
I originally planned a ‘dramatic’ post for our Typhoon Ondoy experience. I actually thought about using ‘Final Frontier’ as this post’s title. But since I’m over it, I’ll just tell you a little story.

I live in Malabon. Streets turning into rivers is pretty normal. Knee high floodwaters is normal. And to top that, we (used to) live beside Tullahan River. That’s why Mom opted to spend a lot of money to get us an elevated house somewhere a little far from the river (but still within our baranggay).
I woke up last Saturday to heavy rain. I was supposed to go out and buy hay for my rabbit and meet up with my boyfriend. But with the heavy rain and flood forming outside our house, I decided to just stay in.
Mom arrived from Monumento at around 12nn. She had to buy some groceries since it’s my brother’s birthday, and he’ll be having a little party with his choirmates. “Monumento looked like a wild river” she said. Then, we noticed the flood slowly rising outside.
We had lunch at around 1, tasty chicken barbecue on hot rice. Yum! We didn’t mind the flood, our house is elevated by at least 3 ft from the street. Then we noticed the water slowly creeping into our garden.
This doesn’t looks good.
